Ultraflex Derby is about to go through a big upgrade, and we wanted you to hear it from us first.
Over the coming months we are putting significant investment into new changing rooms, toilets, and climate control across the facility. The intention is simple: a better environment for the way you use the gym, whether that's a quick session between meetings or a longer training block.
Here's what's coming
- A new luxury female changing area at the rear of the gym, with its own dedicated contrast therapy room. A private, high-spec space built specifically for our female members.
- Dedicated facilities for functional training. A separate cubicle changing area with its own shower, so class attendees are no longer sharing space with the main gym changeover.
- Improved toilet provision at the rear. The existing rear shower will be converted back into a toilet, giving two toilets at the back of the building rather than one.
- An expanded male changing room, taking over the existing female area to create a larger, refreshed space.
- Air conditioning on the mezzanine, so training upstairs stays comfortable right through the summer.
Every one of these spaces will carry the same finish and quality you see across the rest of the facility. Drawings will be on display in reception shortly, and we'll keep you updated through our website and social channels as work progresses.
Please note, some of our plans remain subject to planning approval & appointment of the contractors. We'll confirm start dates as soon as those are in hand.
Timing and what to expect
The new air conditioning system will be installed w/c 5/5/26 and take approximately one week to complete. There will be some disruption whilst the work takes place, but we will do our best to minimise the impact on your training.
Membership pricing
You will be pleased to know that we will be holding our membership prices at the same rate until we revise them in Autumn of this year.

With over 200 pieces of the best gym machinery from several different brands, a full sized boxing ring, and powerlifting cage, located in a 20k sq ft facility, you are entering the best equipped gym in the Midlands. Here we bring the best training experience for everyone, an amazing team to support you and provide the perfect environment no matter what you’re training for. Tired of messy gyms? Here we work hard to provide you with the cleanest facility, no more looking for weights or attachments, all weights are kept in order, and leaving weights out isn’t tolerated. Looking for more than just a gym? Come sit down and relax in one of our 3 saunas, enjoy a shake with a brownie after a hard workout (healthier options available). For those braver souls out there, we also have ice baths available to help with your recovery. On site we also have an Osteopath, Sports Massage and Therapy, and blood testing available.
